| Meet Sahara Shio, Lead Singer.
Sahara didn’t need to join The Residers. Her career as an independent artist was thriving, after having gained recognition as a household name in 1986, with her hit single: I’ve been around the block.
But when Sahara was given a copy of a 2002 Residers recording, she knew she had found her future. “The music was raw and unrefined, but it rang with authenticity and passion. I knew that with some fine-tuning, this group could really go places.”
So, in late-2005, Sahara left her major label to join The Residers. Her clear and strong vocals, along with her little black book of industry connections, are taking The Residers to the next stage in their musical journey.
